SUSPENSION & HANDLING

The GT Turbo should give excellent handling as standard but, of course, this can be improved markedly whilst also improving the stance of the car by lowering it as well. Should your car suffer poor handling, it may be due to worn steering / suspension parts or incorrect adjustment. GT Tuning can check this for you if required whilst upgrading the units. Remember, a poor handling car is a dangerous car!

GTT Strutbraces
Made entirely of S316 grade stainless steel for maximum strength, it is considerably more rigid than even the best grades of alloy. This is emphasised even more by the fact that it is a substantial 1 1/2" diameter and is a one piece fabrication without adjustment facility which would considerably reduce rigidity. The design concept means a much greater degree of accuracy is required during production. The product is finally hand polished to a very high finish which, being stainless steel, will not rub off or deteriorate during use. T.I.G. welding is also used in preference to M.I.G. welding for better strength, penetration and appearance. The handling feels infinitely more stable and safe ensuring far more enjoyable driving with less steering correction required when pushed hard.

NEW GTT Camber Correctors (S106)
Essential new product for all lowered GT Turbo's. GTT Camber Correctors allow the user adjustment of the front camber settings. This is necessary due to the excessive negative camber that automatically occurs when the front is lowered, i.e. the wheels 'splay out' at the bottom. The camber correctors (one for each side) are fully adjustable. allowing any competent tyre and wheel alignment centre to re-set the camber to 1º NEGATIVE (standard setting).

* Easy DIY Fittment Works with all wheel sizes & all makes of shock absorbers. Adjustment can usually be carried out without removing wheels.
* LESS WEAR Tyres will last considerably longer, giving uniform wear across the entire tread which can increase the mileage life to double or more. - Can you afford not to have Camber correctors??

GTT Lowered / Uprated Front Springs (S107)
Most spring manufacturers claim around 30-35 mm drop for their springs. In reality the drop is approx. 12mm! GT Tuning springs lower over double that of others at around 30mm drop. If you have fitted another manufacturerís springs in conjunction with lowering the back, you will find the back appears 'too low'. In fact. It is the front that has not gone down enough! - Use GTT springs only! NB Cutting springs without re-pitching the bottom coil and correct heat treatment is extremely dangerous and may result in a fatal accident.

GTT Lowering Service (S108)
We can lower you vehicle uniformly all round, using purpose designed equipment for dismantling and alignment. Rear torsion bars are re-set to lower the rear and our springs are fitted at the front.

AVO Sports Evolution kit (special GT Tuning Spec.) (S109)
Similar to Spax RSX kit but a little more sturdy in construction. These differ from the AVO Evolution kits you could buy elsewhere, in that we have the units specially made for us with certain design changes.
(1) The rod travel is reduced so to allow the car to be lowered more than normal without risk of the springs becoming loose and dislodged on Œfull droop¹ (i.e. when the car is jacked up or over a hump-back bridge at high speed).
(2) We have chosen a marginally softer spring rate to give improved comfort with less tendency to be 'knocked off line' on typical British roads!
(3) As virtually all units will be fitted to lowered cars (i.e. the rear torsion bars reset). We have also redesigned the rear shox to prevent them from sitting fully compressed on the bump stops.
This re-design gives better comfort and grip at the rear allowing the suspension to work correctly. All shocks are now zinc plated. With all these mods. we charge no more than for the normal 'cooking version', therefore offering excellent value for money and ultimate handling. The kit includes four shock absorbers all with fully adjustable damping and front springs with adjustable ride height.
